Sadly neglecting my blog...

It dawned on me today, that my blog is very neglected. Ever since the unexpected trip to Pa., I am having trouble finding my focus and getting to my art. I have made these cards, but nothing more. I am very busy with my part time job and have had back issues this past week. lots of time spent on the heating pad... My Etsy shops are slow, maybe that's why? I just wanted to stop in to say hi...don't give up on me...I will be back to blogging. I need to get back to my weekly art challenges, that always perks me up.
Heading to OBX (NC, beach) on Friday...can't wait. I will see my sister (hubbies too) for our yearly vacation together, and this time my niece and her fiance will be there too. Much fun will be had...many laughs and lots of cocktails on the beach!

MORE PAGES...

Blogger is NOT being nice to me today :(

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING CANVAS

Oh could it possibly be true, Kathy has kept quiet (for the most part) about her very first official publication? I am more honored than words could possibly say, to be part of this group of eight talented mixed media artists; Glenda, Pam, Nancy, Kim, Alisa, Denise, Jodi and me... Nancy was right when she blogged "we began the journey as online acquaintances and finished as close friends". I love each and every one of you!
Somerset Studio, July/August 2009...yep here we are. This journal traveled from each of our homes and we added our touch to it. We also each made a 2-sided journal page, and this was submitted as well. I can not say how excited and scared...I was when the canvas got to my house, I looked at it for 1 full day... then had the guts to touch it...lol. But I finally did and sent it on to my "sister" next in line. This was one of my favorite steps, in my mixed media journey.

MIX IT UP WITH MELANGE

With all that has been going on around here, I have missed 2 weeks of our Melange team challenge. So it is good to get back in the saddle again, no pun intended. The prompt this week is adventure, so I thought I would use that and take advantage of creating something with a boy. I don't use images of boys very often...
So here is this sweet little one on his pony. I altered this into a small journal.
Please do join us in our challenge, remember you do not have to be a team member to join in.

BOOKS I MUST READ....PLEASE SHARE

I would love to have some recommendations for books to read. I know, this is a very individual thing. I love ghost books, but think I might have read them all. My favorite of all time for you, Don't call them ghosts.
Any who, I am tired of the royal books I have been reading, so I am asking...What book would you tell me I MUST read. I am not a fan of romance books. Or things that will make me cry to much and be depressed....
